PDEX®

PDEX is a synthetic, absorbable monofilament suture made from 100% poly (p-dioxanone), designed to provide extended wound support with minimal tissue reaction. Its excellent tensile strength retention and predictable absorption profile make it ideal for surgeries where long-term tissue approximation is required. PDEX offers smooth handling, secure knotting, and is available in violet for enhanced visibility during procedures.

Tensile Strength

PDEX suture maintains superior initial tensile strength, retaining approximately 70% strength at 2 weeks, 50% at 4 weeks, and 25% at 6 weeks post-implantation. Complete absorption occurs through hydrolysis within 180–210 days, ensuring reliable support during critical healing phases.

Indications

PDEX is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in orthopedic, gastrointestinal, gynecological, urological, plastic, and pediatric cardiovascular surgeries where extended wound support is essential

Storage

Recommended storage conditions below 25⁰C, away from moisture and direct heat. Do not use after the expiry date. Shelf life: 3 years from the date of manufacturing.

Action
